Location: St Louis
The Town of Boone Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. This employee performs intermediate protective service work involving driving a fire apparatus, operating pumps, and conducting fire suppression under emergency conditions with significant personal hazard. Work is performed under regular supervision. The work schedule is a 24.25‑hour shift.
Education and Experience
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable firefighting experience.
Special Requirements
- Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.
- Possession of Level I & II Firefighter Certification and EMT‑Basic certificate. All certifications shall be recognized by the State of North Carolina.
- Must meet and maintain all department and state training and certification requirements for the position.
- Residency Requirement:
Applicants shall reside in one of the following counties:
Watauga, Avery, Ashe, Caldwell, Wilkes or Johnson County, TN.
Salary and Benefits
$56,730 plus excellent benefits. Employee will serve a six‑month probation.
