Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Bapco Air Feuling’s fleet of heavy vehicles and mechanical systems. This includes dispensers, fuelers, pickups, vans, and specialized fuel sampling units. The role also involves attending to mechanical systems such as quick release valves (QRVs), air compressors, and hydrant line components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy vehicles including dispensers, fuelers, pickups, and fuel sampling units.
- Conduct inspections and repairs on QRVs fitted to hydrant lines, air compressors, and valves.
- Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure operational readiness.
- Assist in general mechanical repairs and minor fixes under the supervision of a technician.
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in executing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the maintenance team.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience working in a fuel handling or aviation support environment.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to safety and quality.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of Technical Secondary School or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical systems of diesel-powered heavy vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle repair and maintenance procedures.
- Basic understanding of English (reading and writing) for technical documentation and communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions from supervisors and technicians.
