Role Description The General Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This role is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure to support safe and reliable airline operations. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting equipment, diagnosing issues, carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs, and documenting maintenance activities according to company standards. The technician will perform scheduled preventive maintenance, respond to urgent maintenance requests, and coordinate with operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime. The role also involves adhering to safety regulations, using appropriate tools and test equipment, and contributing to continuous improvement of maintenance procedures.
Qualifications

  • Strong equipment maintenance skills, including Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues using Troubleshooting and Industrial Maintenance techniques.
  • Experience implementing Preventive Maintenance programs to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Relevant technical diploma or certificate in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards, tools, and test instruments used in facility and industrial environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends or holidays, as operational needs require.
  • Previous experience in aviation, transportation, or large industrial facilities is an advantage.
