The Opportunity
A diversified and well-established organization in the Asia-Pacific region is seeking a General Manager – Logistics to lead and transform its end-to-end logistics operations. This role will oversee a sizable, multi-modal logistics portfolio, playing a critical role in optimizing supply chain performance, driving operational excellence, and enabling business growth across challenging and dynamic markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across all logistics functions, including transport, warehousing, distribution, and fleet management
- Drive operational efficiency, cost optimization, and service excellence across geographically dispersed operations
- Lead large, cross-functional teams and build strong leadership capability within the organization
- Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with broader business goals and expansion plans
- Strengthen governance, compliance, and safety standards across all logistics operations
- Leverage data, systems, and emerging technologies to improve visibility, planning, and decision-making
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and government bodies
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior logistics or supply chain leadership role (e.g., GM, Director, or equivalent)
- Strong background in complex, multi-site, or emerging market environments
- Demonstrated success in driving transformation, scaling operations, and leading large teams
- Commercially astute with strong financial and operational management capability
- Experience in sectors such as shipping, transport, mining logistics, FMCG, or infrastructure is highly advantageous
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence at executive and board levels
- Willingness to be based in Port Moresby; expatriate candidates are welcome
