Responsibilities:

Work requires a comprehensive understanding and capability to support exploration and production teams through data-driven practices. Key responsibilities include geological data management, survey design, QA/QC, data analytics, reporting and integration of datasets across MRM, laboratory, and production systems to improve data reliability and workflow efficiency.

Geological Data Management:

  • Maintain, validate, and optimize geological, drilling, assay, QA/QC, and production databases.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, integrity, and timely availability of geological datasets.
  • Manage and support large geological datasets from drilling, sampling, laboratory, and mining operations.
  • Monitor missing or inconsistent data and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams.
  • Support geological database governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain integration between operational platforms such as Acquire, DataShed, IMDEXHUB, IMAGO, KRUX, and related systems.
  • Assist with Lab auditing to ensure that the quality processes are followed correctly.
  • Manage and ensure enough CRM’s are always available in the store and inform well in advance to place new order.

Data Science & Analytics

  • Develop dashboards, automated reports, and business intelligence tools using Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Support advanced data analytics, trend analysis, and operational reporting.
  • Assist with predictive analytics, machine learning applications, and scenario analysis related to geology and mining operations.
  • Support assays trend analysis, reconciliation studies, and operational performance evaluations.
  • Identify opportunities for data-driven process improvement and workflow optimization.

Systems & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate safety records and administrative documentation in line with company systems.
  • Drive and maintain safety data reporting, performance metrics tracking, and close-out of audit findings.
  • Develop and improve automated workflows to reduce manual data handling and improve efficiency.
  • Support integration between multiple mining systems and databases.
  • Assist with implementation of AI-driven and digital mining initiatives.
  • Contribute to modernization of geological reporting and operational analytics systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with IT, mining, Procurement and maintenance departments to ensure integrated support.
  • Provide support and training to users on dashboards, reporting systems, scripts, and database tools.
  • Promote effective use of data analytics and digital tools across the operation.
  • Arrange onboarding safety training and orientation to new hires

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in science (Geology, GIS, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistic) or related discipline.
  • Additional certifications in database management, analytics, AI, or business intelligence will be advantageous.
  • 2 – 5 years’ working experience

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Knowledge of data quality management procedures and reporting
  • Strong SQL and relational database management skills
  • Experience handling large and complex datasets
  • Knowledge of Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytical tools
  • Basic knowledge of sampling and splitting core procedures
  • Exposure to machine learning and predictive analytics
  • Experience with workflow automation and systems integration
  • Understanding of geological, drilling, assay, and production data workflows
  • Familiarity with geological database platforms and mining software systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication, planning, organizational skills and presentation abilities
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Self-motivated with continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
