Overview

TextOre, Inc., a leader in open-source intelligence (OSINT) and foreign media exploitation, is currently looking for candidates with native-equivalent English language skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Geopolitics, international business, or U.S. politics, government, and public policy; AND
  • Social media monitoring, data analytics, or competitive/business intelligence.

A Geopolitical/Media Analyst will leverage Zignal Labs’ edited and social media platform to search for specific regulation, legislative, market, and financial industry news in support of TextOre’s Data and Risk Intelligence business clients. The work involves researching, tailoring, and developing daily customer communications as well as business intelligence reports. The private sector work may be complemented by geopolitical research on U.S. adversary behavior. Training will be provided on the use of any technology, methodologies, or reporting formats required.

Report generation work:

  • Identify, select, and summarize news of client interest through a partner data platform.
  • Research topics and authors to develop queries and to ensure customer required content is captured.
  • Backend work – setup or edit search queries, dashboards, and data filters.
  • Liaise with customer to coordinate deliverable format and content.

Potential government work:

  • Conduct open-source research on subjects of interest operating in foreign countries.
  • Apply knowledge of international affairs to support data curation, partner product development, and analytical reporting.
  • Provide support to other TextOre teams’ ongoing projects as needed.

Work Hours/Location/Rate:

  • Part-time: 80-120 hours per month.
  • 100% remote
  • $50.00/hr

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Location in BST/GMT or CET time-zones.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience (including relevant internships).
  • Exceptional English-language writing and speaking skills.
  • Comfortable working with new technology, social media, Boolean logic, and current events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, or other social science.
  • Strong work ethic / self-motivated / problem solver.
  • Well-organized / pays attention to detail / team player.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, etc. or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with media monitoring data aggregation and visualization tools.
  • Experience delivering daily client briefings or news clippings.
  • Experience with open-source intelligence research tactics and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, or Japanese.
