Inner West Councilis hosting traineeships with GTOAbility Advocates Australiato recruit trainees within multiple areas of Council core business as part of the Inclusive Traineeship Program 2026.
This is a paid, 12-month traineeship, designed for people with disability who are looking to start or restart their career in a structured, supportive office environment.

- People with disability aged 18 years and over
- Individuals eligible for traineeships under relevant training and employment frameworks
- Jobseekers residing within or able to access Inner West Sydney locations
What is theGovernment Information Public Access (GIPA)traineeship?
Kickstart your career in Business Administration with Inner West Council. This hands-on role lets you earn while you learn, gaining valuable skills while completing a Certificate III in Business Administration (BSB30120) in our Government Information Public Access (GIPA) team. Over the next 12 months, you’ll be part of a fully supported program that blends on-the-job training with online learning. You’ll be part of a team delivering high-quality public access to information services while building valuable skills for your future. Guided by a clear training plan, you’ll work towards key competencies, complete assessments, and track your progress as you grow your career.

About The Role
Make a meaningful impact by supporting transparency, accountability, and trust in local government. In this role, you will help ensure the community has appropriate access to information while protecting privacy and strengthening ethical decision-making across Council. Your work will contribute to building strong governance practices that support Councillors, staff, and the community, helping create an organisation that operates with integrity, professionalism, and confidence.

Some Of The Required Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Willingness and interest in attaining a Cert III in Business Administration
- Commitment to undertake and complete all required tasks
- Ability to manage complex information access requests, including third-party consultations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively to the public, co-workers and management.
