The role
We are looking for a Grants and Contributions Program Advisor to support our National Programs Office (NPO) . The Grants and Contributions Program Advisor would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
NRC conducts strategic research to meet Canada’s current and future industrial and societal needs. An important part of this research effort is the implementation of multi-year, mission-oriented research and development (R&D) programs that draw on our people, equipment and facilities. Among these R&D programs are Collaboration R&D Programs through which NRC works with external collaborators (, universities, businesses and not-for-profits) to achieve targeted outcomes.
Collaboration R&D Programs make use of grant and contribution (G&C) funding to defray R&D project costs incurred by some of those external collaborators.
G&C funding for Collaboration R&D Programs is administered by the NRC’s National Program Office (NPO). We are seeking G&C Program Advisors to work in team environment to help NPO fulfil this G&C administration function. As a specialist in the design and delivery of transfer payment programs with in-depth knowledge of the relevant legislative and policy frameworks, the G&C Program Advisor will serve as a G&C thought leader who provides expert advisory services, guidance, coaching and related support to a range of internal and external stakeholder involved in the intake, review and processing of G&C funding applications under the Collaboration R&D Programs.
The G&C Program Advisor will also lead the development and continuous refinement of the internal policies, procedures and related tools for the delivery, management and oversight of G&C funding administered by the NPO.
