Title: Head of HR – Thailand (South of Thailand)
Company: CGP Thailand
Location: Bangkok Metropolitan Area
Lead the people agenda at a leading manufacturing site
CGP Thailand is partnering with our client – a well-established global manufacturer – to find their next Head of HR – Thailand. Please note this opportunity is being recruited on behalf of our client; the successful candidate will be employed directly by them, not by CGP Thailand.
Looking for your next chapter as a senior HR leader? Our client is searching for a Head of HR – Thailand to lead the people function at their manufacturing site in the South of Thailand. It’s a broad, influential role that brings together strategy and execution – from talent and culture, through to compensation, compliance, and the day-to-day employee experience.
You’ll sit on the plant’s leadership team, work shoulder-to-shoulder with the General Manager, and report into the Director of Human Resources for Global Operations & Supply Chain. If you enjoy turning HR into a true business partner function, this role will give you the canvas to do it.
A snapshot of the role
In this position, you will set the direction for HR at the plant and bring it to life on the ground. That covers planning and steering every part of the people lifecycle – making sure HR practices are aligned to business priorities while staying fully compliant, safe, and supportive of employees. You will also be a visible voice for the function, advising leaders, coaching managers, and acting as a fair-minded sounding board for the wider team.
Where you’ll make a difference
- Set the HR direction: Translate company-wide people goals into clear objectives for the local HR team, and bring an HR perspective to plant leadership decisions.
- Build the right team: Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection, place people in roles where they can succeed, and keep workforce planning ahead of business needs.
- Run rewards & performance well: Oversee compensation, benefits, performance management, safety initiatives, and engagement activities, and review pay practices to keep them market-relevant and legally sound.
- Grow people: Spot capability gaps, design learning and development programmes, support career pathways, and lead initiatives such as job evaluations, classifications, and recognition schemes.
- Be a partner and a mediator: Coach managers on policy areas like equal opportunity, harassment, and change; bridge conversations between leadership and employees; and resolve workplace concerns fairly.
- Communicate clearly: Make sure employees and candidates understand company policies, roles, working conditions, benefits, and growth opportunities, and create an environment where people feel informed and heard.
- Keep the business compliant: Maintain accurate people data and reporting (hiring, transfers, performance reviews), uphold internal controls, and serve as the point of contact with relevant government agencies.
- Champion safety, quality & sustainability: Reinforce 5S, SHE, ISO 14001, and the Quality Management System within HR practice, follow EHS and risk-management requirements, and use the safety calendar to drive a strong safety culture.
- Use insight to improve: Analyse people data, surface trends, and recommend practical changes to HR policies and processes that lift morale, fairness, and performance.
- Manage your function: Set up clear control systems, delegate effectively, keep the department within budget, and partner closely with other department heads to deliver shared goals – including the rollout of new company programmes.
What we’re looking for
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Political Science, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Experience: Around 10 years in HR overall, with at least 3–5 of those in a managerial role, and a strong track record of partnering with a manufacturing business.
- Technical know-how: Solid grasp of labour law and labour standards, modern HR management and development practice, performance management, risk management, and quality systems.
- Leadership skills: Confident in coaching and counselling, conflict resolution, leading change, delegating with trust, and giving – and receiving – honest feedback.
- Mindset: A problem-solver with a continuous-improvement mentality, a customer-oriented outlook, and a clear commitment to doing things ethically.
- Mobility: Comfortable travelling within Thailand and internationally when the role calls for it.
