I'm hiring on behalf of a client, a trapped-ion quantum computing company that have closed $150M+ in funding and are looking for a, Head of US Partnerships and Sales a founding hire building the company's entire US commercial presence from the ground up.
You would own the full pipeline: government engagement (DARPA, AFRL, national labs, state programs), enterprise sales across pharma, automotive, aerospace, finance and energy, and strategic partnerships with HPC vendors, cloud providers, and technology/systems-integration partners.
It's a builder role, defining the US go-to-market strategy alongside the executive team.
What they need:
- 10+ years in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships in deep tech (quantum, HPC, semiconductors, advanced computing, or similar).
- Existing relationships with US federal agencies, national labs, cloud providers, and HPC vendors, this is relationship-driven, not cold-start
- Track record selling complex technical systems to enterprise and government customers
- Entrepreneurial mindset, genuinely comfortable building a market presence with no existing team or scaffolding
- Regular travel to customers/prospects
- Quantum, HPC, or AI hardware/software background
Reports into the executive team, high autonomy, high visibility, this is someone who'd be the face of the company's US presence at industry forums and government programs, not just a name on an org chart.
