Role Description The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures across electrical, mechanical projects. Daily tasks include conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits, as well as reporting hazards and recommending corrective actions. The Health and Safety Officer will deliver safety training and toolbox talks, ensure compliance with local regulations and company certifications, and maintain up-to-date documentation and incident records. Collaboration with project managers, engineers, technicians, and external regulators will be expected to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in workplace safety standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Workplace Safety skills, with the ability to design and implement effective safety programs.
- Candidates should possess knowledge in Occupational Health and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including risk assessment and control measures.
- Candidates should possess recognized safety certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Relevant experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, or oil and gas environments is highly beneficial.
- Strong understanding of local and international safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train and influence diverse teams are required.
- A diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
- Candidates residing in Mombasa and surroundings will be given priority.
