Job Purpose:
To handle the HR regulatory and governance activities, ensuring adherence to labour laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, while providing advice and oversight to minimise HR-related risks and strengthen organisational governance.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field.
Minimum Experience/Knowledge Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in compliance, governance, or labour relations, preferably in a regulated environment such as banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of labour laws, employment regulations, compliance requirements, and governance standards.
Key responsibilities
Scope of Influence
- Ensure HR policies, processes, and practices comply with labour laws and internal governance standards.
- Advise business units on compliance requirements and governance best practices.
- Monitor compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Decision Impact
- Provide actionable guidance on compliance matters to senior management.
- Assess HR-related risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to decisions affecting HR policy changes, employee relations, and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for compliance queries across the Bank.
- Liaise with internal audit, legal, and regulators during inspections or investigations.
- Build strong relationships with business units to foster a culture of compliance.
Compliance & Governance
- Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies and governance frameworks.
- Ensure adherence to labour laws, internal policies, and ethical standards.
- Support audits, investigations, and regulatory submissions with accurate documentation and evidence.
Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Mauritian labour laws, employment regulations, and compliance requirements
- Expertise in governance frameworks, policy development, and internal controls
- Proficiency in HR systems, data reporting, and compliance tracking tools
