1. About Our Client:
The organization operates emission testing programs tailored to local requirements in various states and counties across the US. It partners with government agencies to enhance compliance with air quality standards and support public policy objectives related to environmental quality.
2. About the Opportunity:
The Human Resources Generalist manages daily Human Resources functions including employee relations, leave administration, compliance, and benefits support. This role works closely with program leaders across multiple states to maintain consistent, fair, and compliant HR practices and foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
3. Responsibilities:
- Manage HR functions across the employee life-cycle
- Lead employee relations efforts including investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and training
- Partner with leadership and employees to ensure equitable workforce practices
- Collaborate on training development and delivery
- Monitor and document compliance with training requirements
- Support benefits administration
- Analyze employee data and company trends to provide actionable recommendations
- Work with HR colleagues across multiple states
- Contribute to HR department goals, objectives, and systems
- Administer FMLA and other leave programs
- Support workers' compensation claim administration
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and recommend best practices
- Conduct OSHA, EEO, and BLS reporting and assist with other regulatory reporting
- Respond to unemployment claims and participate in hearings
- Assist in developing safety initiatives
- Travel up to 5% as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
4. Requirements:
- 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Familiarity with leave and workers' compensation programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to analyze data and develop solutions
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Preferred: Experience with multi-state employers
- Preferred: Experience with benefits administration
- Preferred: Knowledge of HRIS systems
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- $75,000 – $85,000 per year
