Responsibilities
l. Relations Strategy & Governance
- Support formulation and implementation of IR strategy aligned with business and HR goals
- Participate in governance councils and implement action plans based on IR insights and audits
- Establish and operationalize IR Help Desk across site.
- Labour & Union Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with labour unions, workers, and contractors
- Lead/assist in collective bargaining, negotiations, and settlements
- Address and resolve labour grievances and disputes effectively
- Statutory Compliance & Legal Adherence
- Ensure 100% compliance with labour laws, including:
- Factories Act
- Contract Labour Act
- EPF, ESI, Bonus, Wages, Compensation Acts
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready records
- Liaise with government authorities, labour offices, and inspectors
- Contractor & Workforce Management
- Oversee contract labour onboarding, compliance, and wage administration
- Validate contractor documentation, billing, and statutory adherence
- Support workforce planning, especially for outsourced manpower requirements
- Grievance Handling & Discipline
- Manage employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and domestic inquiries
- Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolution processes
- Prevents industrial unrest, strikes, and disputes through proactive engagement
- IR Analytics, Audits & Reporting
- Conduct IR health checks and compliance audits
- Generate MIS reports, dashboards, and workforce insights
- Analyze employee and labour data to support decision-making
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with:
- Business HR / Site HR
- Legal & Compliance teams
- Contractors and vendors
- Local administration / village bodies
- Act as a bridge between management and workforce
- Policy Implementation & Communication
- Drive implementation of IR policies, frameworks, and compliance systems
- Conduct awareness sessions on:
- Labour laws
- Compliance requirements
- Workplace discipline and safety
- Ensure uniform policy adoption across sites
Qualifications
- Preferable: MBA/ MSW / PG in HR / Industrial Relations / Labour Law
- 8 – 12 years of experience
- Prior experience in:
- Infrastructure / EPC / manufacturing / energy sectors
- Handling compliance of EPC partners
- Handling large contract workforce
