Job Purpose
The IT Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of the company’s IT infrastructure. The role involves providing technical support to users, maintaining networks and systems, managing databases, and assisting in the procurement and implementation of IT solutions. The IT Officer contributes to organizational productivity by supporting technology-driven operations while ensuring compliance with IT security standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
•Provide technical assistance to users for hardware, software, and network issues.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot IT problems, escalating complex issues to the IT Manager.
•Ensure timely resolution of service requests and minimize downtime.
2. Network & Systems Management
•Maintain, monitor, and administer computer networks, servers, and related computing environments.
•Configure and manage systems software, applications, and hardware.
•Ensure system backups, updates, and patches are performed regularly.
3. IT Security & Compliance
•Implement and maintain security protocols for data, network access, and systems.
•Monitor and respond to security breaches or potential threats.
•Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal IT policies.
4. Database & Application Support
•Install, configure, and maintain database software and ensure optimal performance.
•Support business applications and ensure proper integration with IT infrastructure.
5. User Training & Documentation
•Train staff on new systems, software, and IT best practices.
•Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, network configurations, and operational procedures.
6. Procurement & IT Planning
•Assist in identifying, evaluating, and procuring IT hardware, software, and infrastructure.
•Provide recommendations for IT improvements aligned with operational and strategic objectives.
Undertake additional responsibilities as required, in line with the scope, level, and objectives of the role.
Job Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience in IT support or system administration.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and network administration.
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and office productivity tools.
Familiarity with database management and application support.
Understanding of IT security practices, firewalls, and backup solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Knowledge of procurement processes for IT equipment and software.
• Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
