Reporting to the Customer Experience Team Lead, you’ll join a small, community-focused team dedicated to delivering positive experiences and outcomes for infrastructure activities around Kirikiriroa.

As our Infrastructure Stakeholder Liaison, your primary focus will be supporting the delivery of planned transport maintenance and renewal activities through Connect Hamilton, a partnership between Hamilton City Council and Downer.

This role is all about helping Council look after its existing transport infrastructure for the benefit of the community. Working closely with Connect Hamilton, you’ll play a critical role in keeping residents, businesses, and stakeholders informed about upcoming works, while helping to minimise disruption wherever possible.

Acting as the key link between Connect Hamillton and the community, you’ll ensure there is open, two-way communication throughout before, during and after physical works. By building strong relationships and gathering community feedback, you’ll help shape how infrastructure activities are delivered and concerns are addressed.

The ultimate goal of this role is to build community trust and confidence in how we deliver transport maintenance and renewal programmes.

This is a highly visible and people-focused position, so you can expect to spend a significant amount of time out in the community, engaging directly with stakeholders and representing our committment to becoming the leading community focused council.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Support maintenance and renewal activities by identifying risks and opportunities during programme planning that minimise stakeholder disruption during physical works
  • Support the Communications & Engagement Team with stakeholder analysis for high disruption maintenance and renewal activities
  • Lead the excution of stakeholder and localised community updates (including door knocking and letter drops) to ensure people are well informed of upcoming works
  • Bring stakeholder concerns to the attention of project teams before, during and after physical works to be addressed
  • Take ownership of complaints for maintenance and renewal activities, with support from subject matter experts as required
  • Support the wider Customer Experience Team with enquiries for planned maintenance and renewal activities
  • Identify and implement opportunities that benefit internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

You’ll have:

  • A tertiary qualification or experience in stakeholder engagment, community engagement, customer services, or communications
  • Previous experience with infrastructure maintenance and renewal activities
  • A high level of computer literary, particularly in Microsoft Office applications
