The Netherlands Innovation Network Japan at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo is looking for an Innovation Officer with a focus on AI & Data to strengthen innovation, science and technology cooperation between the Netherlands and Japan.
About the role
You will support the Innovation, Science and Technology Section in implementing Dutch innovation policy and fostering collaboration between government, industry and knowledge institutions. While the role is supportive, you will have primary responsibility for the AI & Data domain within the broader innovation portfolio.
Your work will include:
- Organising and supporting innovation missions, meetings and events
- Collecting, analysing and reporting on innovation and technology developments
- Supporting policy advice and stakeholder engagement
- Building and maintaining networks in the Japanese and Dutch innovation ecosystem
- Contributing to communication and outreach activities
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong affinity with innovation, science and technology
- Relevant experience in AI and/or Data
- Fluency in English and Japanese (spoken and written)
- Ability to work independently, accurately and in an international environment
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills
- Dutch language skill is an asset
Work environment
You will join an international, dynamic embassy team and work closely with diplomatic, economic and innovation colleagues, as well as external partners. Flexibility is required, as events may occasionally take place outside regular office hours.
Conditions
- Salary: Scale 7
- Employment conditions according to local staff regulations of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
