We are looking for an Institutional Relations Manager to join our operations in Brazil, based at our Rio de Janeiro office.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration or related fields; postgraduate degree or MBA will be considered a plus,

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in institutional, governmental, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the energy sector (power generation, natural gas, oil & gas, or infrastructure),

• Strong knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory environment, especially in the electricity and natural gas sectors, including interaction with entities such as ANEEL, ONS, and MME,

• Proven experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders (government, regulators, associations, and institutional partners),

• Advanced English (spoken and written),

• Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills in complex and multicultural environments,

• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret regulatory scenarios and anticipate risks and opportunities,

• Leadership skills, project management capabilities, and ability to work cross-functionally,

• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and handle strategic topics,

• High ethical standards and alignment with compliance and corporate governance practices,

• Proactive profile with autonomy and ability to develop strategic and innovative solutions.

WHAT AWAITS YOU?

• Lead and execute KPS Brazil’s institutional and governmental relations strategy, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory objectives,

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, regulators, and industry entities, including ANEEL, ONS, MME, IBAMA, and other relevant stakeholders,

• Continuously monitor and analyze the regulatory and institutional landscape of the electricity and natural gas sectors in Brazil, anticipating risks and opportunities,

• Proactively represent and defend the company’s interests in public consultations, hearings, and regulatory forums,

• Coordinate licensing processes, authorizations, and institutional interactions required for project implementation, operation, and continuity (including Powerships and onshore assets),

• Structure and implement stakeholder engagement strategies at local, regional, and national levels, including governments, communities, and strategic partners,

• Support institutional and contractual negotiations with public authorities and regulatory bodies, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation,

• Work closely with legal, regulatory, commercial, and operational teams to ensure consistency in the company’s institutional positioning,

• Manage institutional crises and sensitive matters, ensuring effective communication and strategic positioning,

• Lead the preparation of strategic reports and executive analyses on the regulatory and institutional environment to support senior leadership decision-making,

• Represent the company in industry associations, chambers of commerce, and energy sector forums, strengthening KPS’s institutional presence in Brazil,

• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, ethics, and compliance guidelines in all institutional interactions.
