Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 1-3 years of experience in analytics, insights, research, reporting, or business intelligence roles supporting subscription-based businesses, with hands-on experience analysing subscriber acquisition, retention, churn, conversion, engagement, and revenue metrics
- Hands-on experience producing dashboards, reports, and analyses that support business decision-making
Capabilities & Competencies
- Strong understanding of subscription business metrics, including subscriber growth, retention, churn, engagement, conversion funnels, customer lifetime value (CLV), and revenue performance
- Comfortable working with large datasets and able to structure questions, identify relevant data cuts, and spot patterns, trends, and anomalies
- Ability to translate data into clear charts, tables, and insights that non-technical stakeholders can easily understand
- Strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and data quality, with the ability to manage multiple requests and deliver within agreed timelines
- Strong curiosity for understanding why patterns occur and how they influence product, editorial, audience, and commercial decisions
- Exposure to SQL, BigQuery, or equivalent platforms for data extraction and joins, or a demonstrated ability to quickly develop this capability
- Experience using BI and dashboard tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with web and app analytics platforms and digital performance metrics, including sessions, pageviews, funnels, retention, and subscriber behaviour analysis
Responsibilities
Audience & Subscription Analysis
- Analyze audience, subscriber, engagement, retention, and churn data across multiple brands and channels
- Develop and maintain audience segmentation strategies based on lifecycle, value, and engagement trends
- Consolidate data from various platforms to uncover actionable business insights
Reporting & Dashboards
- Create and maintain reports and self-service dashboards for cross-functional teams
- Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and ease of interpretation
- Monitor key metrics and identify performance trends, risks, and growth opportunities
Insights & Stakeholder Reporting
- Turn complex data into clear reports, presentations, and recommendations
- Support monthly and quarterly business performance reviews
- Prepare data-driven materials for meetings, workshops, and strategic discussions
Experimentation & Optimization
- Assist in planning, tracking, and analyzing tests across content, offers, messaging, and channels
- Validate and document test results with clear recommendations
- Maintain a knowledge base of insights and learnings from experiments
Process Improvement & Data Governance
- Follow data quality, governance, and documentation standards
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and analysis tasks
- Contribute to improvements in reporting processes, definitions, and analytics tools
Success Measures
- Accuracy and reliability of reports, dashboards, and insights
- Adoption and usage of analytics tools and recommendations by stakeholders
- Contribution to audience growth, engagement, retention, and subscriber performance
- Timely delivery of reporting and analysis requests
- Positive stakeholder feedback on collaboration, communication, and insight quality
