Objective(s):
The Laboratory Director supports leading, managing, and continuously developing laboratory services at Kingdom Health, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and reliable diagnostic testing aligned with evidence-based practices and international standards, while maintaining full compliance with regulations issued by the Jordan Ministry of Health and all applicable laboratory safety and quality requirements. In this role, the Laboratory Director plays a pivotal part in enhancing clinical decision-making, improving patient outcomes, and driving operational excellence through innovation, effective leadership, and robust quality management systems.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Pre-Operational Phase (2026–2027):
- Led the end-to-end planning and implementation of Laboratory Information System (LIS) and ERP platforms to support integrated laboratory operations.
- Designed and configured comprehensive laboratory workflows within LIS/ERP systems, including test catalogues, reference ranges, pricing structures, sample tracking, procurement, inventory management, and billing integration.
- Coordinated system validation activities with IT teams and vendors, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and pre-launch troubleshooting to ensure full operational readiness.
- Developed and implemented SOPs governing LIS/ERP utilization, covering order entry, result reporting, stock control, and operational reporting in alignment with quality and accreditation standards.
- Delivered structured training programs for laboratory staff to ensure competency in LIS/ERP functionalities and readiness for go-live operations.
- Led change management activities to support the smooth adoption of LIS/ERP systems across laboratory teams and clinical stakeholders.
- Established data governance and standardization frameworks to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of laboratory information across systems.
- Defined integration requirements between LIS/ERP and hospital information systems (HIS) to ensure seamless clinical and operational workflows.
- Participated in go-live planning and execution strategy to ensure controlled system deployment and minimal operational disruption.
- Supported the development of performance monitoring dashboards and reporting tools to enhance operational visibility and decision-making.
Post-Opening Phase (2027+):
- Led daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficient workflow, compliance with policies, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Ensured continuous quality assurance through implementation and monitoring of IQC and EQA programs.
- Maintained compliance with CAP, JCI, and ISO accreditation standards through continuous monitoring and gap analysis.
- Oversaw laboratory accreditation readiness through ongoing quality improvement initiatives aligned with international standards.
- Led internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely closure of non-conformities and implementation of CAPA.
- Monitored and improved key performance indicators (KPIs), including turnaround time (TAT), accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Promoted a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to enhance laboratory performance and patient care outcomes.
- Managed laboratory data integrity, ensuring accuracy, traceability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborated with clinical departments and hospital leadership to optimize test utilization and support evidence-based clinical decision-making.
- Supervised laboratory inventory, procurement, and resource management to ensure cost efficiency and minimal wastage.
- Ensured proper maintenance, calibration, and performance validation of laboratory equipment to guarantee operational reliability.
- Enforced biosafety, biosecurity, and infection prevention and control (IPC) standards across all laboratory activities.
- Developed laboratory staff through structured training programs, competency assessments, and continuous professional development.
- Supported clinical services by ensuring timely, accurate, and reliable laboratory results delivery.
- Drove digital transformation initiatives to enhance automation, reporting efficiency, and integration between LIS, ERP, and hospital systems.
- Managed laboratory budgeting and financial planning to ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Established and maintained risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate operational and clinical laboratory risks.
- Represented the laboratory in multidisciplinary committees and hospital-wide quality and patient safety forums, contributing to strategic decisions.
- Act as a liaison between the KH lab and the MOH to ensure compliance with health regulations and support collaboration on clinical protocols.

Qualifications requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s in medical laboratory sciences or related field, with a valid professional license as lab director.
- 15+ years of experience in Clinical laboratory operations.
- Proven expertise in laboratory quality systems and international accreditation (CAP, JCI, ISO 15189).
- Strong strategic and operational leadership skills, including budgeting and resources.
