Responsibilities
Capex Planning & Budgeting
- Develop the Annual Capex Plan in alignment with business strategy, operational requirements, and regulatory mandates.
- Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure Capex budgets are approved, allocated, and tracked in SAP/ERP systems.
- Conduct periodic Capex reviews and re-forecasting exercises for Board and Management reporting.
- Ensure proper capitalization of assets in compliance with accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS).
Project Execution & Monitoring
- Oversee project execution lifecycle from concept approval through commissioning and handover.
- Drive project scheduling using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring adherence to milestones.
- Conduct regular site visits and progress review meetings with contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes through structured change management protocols.
- Ensure completion of projects within approved budget, timeline, and quality benchmarks.
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Capex status reports for Senior Management and Board.
- Monitor budget utilization, commitments, and variance analysis; present findings with corrective action plans.
- Ensure strict internal financial controls and audit compliance across all Capex transactions.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for Capex-related audit queries and closures.
- Maintain accurate records of Capex Appropriation Requests (CARs), approvals, and amendments.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary interface between Projects, Finance, Operations, Legal, and HR teams for Capex matters.
- Present project status updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with airport operations teams to ensure minimal disruption during project execution.
- Manage relationships with key external stakeholders including government bodies, airlines, and concessionaires.
Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with Capex projects including technical, financial, and legal risks.
- Maintain a live Risk Register and ensure mitigation actions are tracked and reported.
- Develop contingency plans for critical path activities and high-risk project components.
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a recognized university. (Mandatory)
- MBA / PGDM in Finance or Project Management is highly preferred.
- Post Graduate qualification in Infrastructure / Construction Management is an added advantage.
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) – PMI
- Certified Cost Professional (CCP) – AACE International
- Primavera P6 Certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Capex project management in infrastructure, airport, or construction sectors.
- At least 5 years in a senior / managerial capacity handling end-to-end Capex planning and execution.
- Hands-on experience managing Capex portfolios of INR 50 Crores and above.
- Prior experience in airports, aviation infrastructure, or large-scale public infrastructure is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in Board-level Capex reporting and stakeholder management.
