Job Purpose
Lead the strategic oversight, portfolio management, and performance excellence of all bus and marine transport technical systems as section manager. Define system architecture and design engineering direction while managing service delivery, stakeholder engagement, vendor partnerships, and operations ecosystem.
Ensure continuous availability, integration, modernization, budget optimization, and risk management of real-time monitoring, fare collection, and passenger information systems. Drive artificial intelligence and innovation initiatives to deliver safe, efficient, and smart public transport services aligned with RTA's digital transformation strategy.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy
- Lead portfolio management and formulate long-term strategies for the development, maintenance, sustainability, and budget optimization of all technical systems supporting bus and marine operations across the full ecosystem.
- Lead system architecture and design engineering direction, defining priorities and digital integration frameworks to ensure interoperability, scalability, and future readiness across platforms such as AVM, EVD, TVM/TOM/TUM, and RTPI.
- Establish performance objectives and KPIs for system uptime, data accuracy, and service reliability in alignment with RTA’s smart mobility roadmap.
- Lead strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement management, and SLAs with vendors and technology providers, ensuring service delivery excellence, alignment with standards, and future-ready capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, leveraging artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, benchmarking, and emerging technology trends to optimize operations and enhance passenger experience.
- Ensure data governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and operational compliance across all technical systems, with strategic oversight of budget planning and resource allocation.
Operations
- Oversee operation of bus and marine transport systems, ensuring reliability and real-time availability of operational data.
- Supervise maintenance planning, fault detection, and troubleshooting activities for smart transport devices and control systems.
- Manage integration and information accuracy of automated fare collection and passenger information systems.
- Coordinate with finance and operations teams for the collection and reconciliation of Nol card revenues from purchase and recharge machines.
- Lead service delivery management by monitoring and evaluating system performance across the operations ecosystem, generating reports and recommending corrective and preventive actions to ensure continuous improvement.
Product / Process Improvement
- Develop and continuously update maintenance and inspection procedures for all transport technology systems.
- Promote process innovation and digital transformation by introducing IoT-enabled monitoring, artificial intelligence for predictive operations, advanced analytics, and automated reporting tools to optimize service delivery.
- Lead technical knowledge sharing, upskilling programs, and system audits to enhance team capabilities and ensure compliance with operational standards.
Key Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Transport Systems, or Information Technology
Experience:
12+ years in case of Master's degree; 14+ years in case of Bachelor's degree in related area
