Purpose of the Role:

Manager – Finance & Accounts is responsible for overseeing end-to-end financial management and ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and organizational policies. The role provides strategic financial leadership, strengthens governance frameworks, and supports informed decision-making for sustainable development outcomes. Discharge all accounting and finance functions and ensure the accounting standards are applied in relevant areas of work.

Key Deliverables:

  • Ensure end-to-end compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including Direct & Indirect Taxation, GST, Companies Act, and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
  • Establish robust financial controls and governance framework to ensure adherence to regulatory, donor, and organizational guidelines.
  • Seamless coordination for internal, programmatic, and statutory audits, ensure timely submission of records, and effective resolution of audit observations. Drive closure of audit findings by implementing corrective actions and strengthening internal control systems. Ensure efficient and compliant Accounts Payable operations, including end-to-end processing of vendor invoices and payments within defined timelines, with strict adherence to Delegation of Power (DoP), donor guidelines, statutory requirements regulations, while strengthening controls to enhance accuracy, transparency, and vendor satisfaction.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records through periodic reviews of General Ledger (GL) accounts and timely closure of books.
  • Strengthen operational efficiency through process improvements and automation initiatives within finance functions.
  • Lead the budgeting and financial planning process, including preparation of Annual Business Plans in collaboration with program teams. Monitor budget utilization, track fund allocation, and ensure optimal use of financial resources aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making. Provide leadership in preparing and presenting financial MIS, dashboards, and analytical reports to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Develop high-quality financial reports, presentations, and policy briefs for internal stakeholders, donors, and government agencies.
  • Oversee treasury operations, including preparation and review of Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) and resolution of outstanding items within defined timelines. Ensure effective cash flow management and fund availability for smooth programme implementation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, ministries, donor agencies, and financial institutions and coordination with external stakeholders for grants management, subsidies, and compliance requirements.
  • Support donor reporting and ensure adherence to funding guidelines and utilization norms.
  • Drive capability building initiatives to enhance financial acumen across program and operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of changes in taxation, financial regulations, and public finance policies, and drive timely implementation across the organization.

Work experience in years:

3-8 Years of relevant experience, in finance, development sector, or PSU environment.Experience in budgeting, fiscal analysis or public sector projects preferred.

Minimum Qualification

 Qualified CA / CMA.
