Job Purpose
- Lead the planning, development, and optimization of public bus scheduling systems and transportation information frameworks to ensure efficient service delivery, integration across modes, and alignment with customer demand. Oversee the maintenance of operational databases, GIS data, and advanced scheduling technologies, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement in public transport operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strategy
- Provide executive leadership for end-to-end planning, governance, execution of bus service updates to ensure all changes to schedules. frequencies, routes, and level of service are data driven matching operation resource availability, proactively communicated and aligned with RTA strategic goals.
- Ensure the achievement of approved Key Performance Indicators (KPI) through effective planning, governance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement frameworks to monitor, evaluate and implement strategies to improve performance of bus services to customers as per strategic objectives of RTA.
- Lead transformations plans & drive initiatives to enhance overall system reliability through the strategic adoption of Artificial Intelligence and advanced analytics, enabling predictive operations, informed decision-making, and improved service performance.
- Determine requirements for advanced scheduling systems, digital tools, and analytical programs to enhance service planning and integration.
- Ensure synchronization of schedules with other transport modes such as metro, tram, and marine transport in line with multimodal integration objectives.
Operations
- Continuously monitor and analyse customer complaints to ensure timely response, implement immediate corrective actions, and develop sustainable solutions that address root causes and improve service quality.
- Leverage operational data as a strategic asset to enhance system reliability, performance monitoring, predictive analytics, and continuous service improvement to ensure compliance with approved policies, security standards, and data management best practices, while supporting innovation and advanced analytics initiatives.
- Manage the preparation and programming of schedules for all operational days and lines, including metro feeders, intercity, and commercial routes, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Supervise the export of updated operational data to relevant systems such as the Journey Planner, AFC, and AVM, ensuring data integrity and accuracy in line with agreed timeline.
- Oversee maintenance and continuous enhancement of the electronic scheduling system, incorporating GIS-based mapping for routes and stops.
Product / Process Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement of scheduling methodologies and information systems to improve service reliability and responsiveness.
- Enhance data governance, system automation, and integration capabilities across scheduling platforms.
- Support the adoption of emerging technologies in scheduling, data analytics, and customer information systems.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Transport Planning, or Data Analytics
Experience: 12+ years in case of Master's degree; 14+ years in case of Bachelor's degree in related area
