Position Title: Marine Vessel Inspector (Tug Boats, Work Barges & Dredgers)
Purpose: Conduct technical and condition inspections of marine assets (tug boats, work barges, dredgers) to assess seaworthiness, structural integrity, machinery condition, and compliance with classification, flag state, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform surveys of tugs, barges, and dredgers, covering hull, deck, machinery, electrical systems, and safety equipment.
· Inspect main engines, generators, pumps, winches, towing equipment, and dredging machinery for operational readiness and wear.
· Verify compliance with regulations, and classification society standards.
· Review and validate vessel certificates (Class, Flag, P&I, Insurance, Safety Equipment, Load Line, etc.).
· Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence, defect lists, and recommendations.
· Liaise with vessel masters, crew, and technical superintendents to coordinate inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
· Assess structural damage, corrosion, and fitness-for-purpose for marine operations (towing, anchor handling, dredging support).
· Ensure HSE compliance during inspections, including PPE use and confined space/working-at-height precautions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Marine Engineering degree, Naval Architecture, or Maritime Studies diploma (or equivalent maritime certification, e.g., STCW Officer/Engineer rating).
· Minimum 5 years' experience in marine vessel inspection, surveying, or technical superintendency, with exposure to tugs, barges, and/or dredgers.
· Familiarity with classification society survey standards (DNV, ABS, BV, Lloyd's Register).
· Knowledge of dredging equipment is a plus.
· Strong report-writing and documentation skills.

· Strong attention to detail and analytical assessment ability.
· Good communication skills in English.
· Proficiency in MS Office.
· Ability to work independently and make sound technical judgments under time pressure.
