Applications are invited for the position of Maritime Liaison Officer to support the activities of the Maritime Innovation Hub (MIH) – IIT Bombay.
The selected candidate will support coordination with startups, maritime-sector stakeholders, government agencies, industry partners, and internal administrative units at IIT Bombay. The role is ideal for someone with strong communication, documentation, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills, along with an interest in the maritime, ports, shipping, coastal, offshore, logistics, and blue economy sectors.

Nature: Project-based / contractual appointment
Essential Eligibility
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Maritime Studies / Naval Architecture / Ocean Engineering / Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, industry liaison, startup coordination, government-funded projects, research project administration, innovation management, or stakeholder communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Good documentation, coordination, follow-up, and organisational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace and online communication tools
Desirable Qualifications
- MBA and/or Postgraduate degree in Maritime Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Government-funded projects, sponsored research projects, MoU-based projects, or industry–academia collaborations
- Preparation of progress reports, utilisation summaries, stakeholder presentations, and review-meeting documents
- Familiarity with maritime-sector stakeholders and innovation ecosystems
