Our NSW Government client is seeking a dynamic Marketing and Communications Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with diverse portfolios and drive high-quality marketing initiatives within the NSW Government.
About the Role
In this role you will administer marketing and communications activities, including PR campaigns, promotions, and exhibitions. Operating under a decentralised business partnership model, you will act as a key point of contact to provide high-level customer service and stakeholder engagement.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide high-level support in producing professional documentation and promotional material using advanced writing and design skills.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic communications and marketing plans for the organisation.
- Act as a business partner to business portfolios to provide fit-for-purpose marketing and communications advice.
- Develop and implement effective digital marketing strategies across owned, earned, and paid platforms.
- Support digital initiatives that grow communities and develop content to ensure engagement.
- Access, review, and analyse data sources like web analytics to provide considered reports and insights.
- Contribute to education and training plans that ensure high-quality marketing outputs by staff across the organisation.
Key Challenges
- Managing competing demands within a complex and high-volume work environment while meeting strategic plans.
- Maintaining a strong customer focus during periods of peak customer demand.
- Staying aware of and responsive to new and emerging issues and technologies.
- Managing consultations, cross-portfolio partnerships, and negotiations in a way that promotes the Department’s overall interests.

Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience.
- High-level marketing and communications skills demonstrated through the delivery of contemporary, integrated campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering digital marketing strategies across owned, earned, and paid platforms.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills to tailor complex messages clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience utilising analytics, information, and digital platforms to deliver marketing initiatives.
- Proven experience building, developing content for, and engaging with digital communities.
- Strong planning and organisational skills to manage workflow and multiple concurrent priorities.
- Strong ability to build effective working relationships and team collaboration, backed by influencing and negotiation skills.
