The RDN is on the lookout for a mid-level officer to support its waste diversion initiatives. As a Solid Waste Compliance Officer, you will ensure adherence to bylaws, conduct inspections, and facilitate educational programs. Your position at either the Regional Landfill or Church Road Transfer Station will balance hands-on enforcement with community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections to verify compliance with disposal regulations
• Identify contamination and manage appropriate responses
• Monitor haulers to ensure adherence to standards
• Investigate and respond to instances of illegal dumping
• Maintain accurate compliance and investigation records
Requirements:
• High school diploma and over two years of related education
• At least three years of experience in local government
• One year of experience in bylaw enforcement
• Level 1 Bylaw Enforcement certification required
• Class 5 Driver’s License needed
