Position: Municipal By-Law Animal Control Officer
Be a key player in enforcing animal regulations in Timmins as a part-time Municipal By-Law Animal Control Officer. Utilize investigative skills to ensure compliance with local by-laws.
As part of the Enforcement Services Department, the Animal Control Officer enforces municipal ordinances while maintaining safety and compassion for all creatures.
Your role will involve conducting investigations, writing comprehensive reports about findings, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership. You will also collaborate with local agencies to manage and resolve animal control issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct sensitive investigations per animal control by-laws
• Analyze evidence and provide expert testimony in court
• Issue compliance orders under the Provincial Offences Act
• Deliver public education programs on animal services
• Safely capture and handle restrained animals
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education plus relevant post-secondary certification
• Two years of related experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with animal handling and care
• Clean Driver’s Abstract and current Criminal Record Check
