PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Responsible for availability of Raw Material & Components as per agreed delivery dates aligned to Production Schedule by effective vendor management and internal escalations.
- To prepare the RM delivery schedule against Purchase Orders in alignment with the Production schedule based on supplier capacity in mind.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Vendor Management & Expediting
- Drive proactive vendor engagement with a go-getter attitude to ensure timely deliveries.
- Prepare and monitor scheduling lines post-PO release; align supplier schedules with plant requirements.
- Track delivery performance, escalate critical delays, and ensure adherence to monthly supply plans.
- Utilize Vendor Portal for streamlined communication and grievance resolution.
- Collaborate with planning and plant teams to maintain safety stock and optimize storage utilization.
- Develop and maintain procurement dashboards for performance tracking and reporting.
Operational Procurement & P2P Cycle
- Own the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Process orders via SAP MM; manage both domestic and import purchases using various Incoterms.
- Implement engineering change notifications (ECR/ECN) and manage rejection material disposal within defined timelines.
- Understand and apply payment terms such as LC/BG in procurement transactions.
Inventory & Material Management
- Manage raw material inventory and refine lead times based on plant requirements.
- Measure and report RM/component availability against production plans.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to government norms related to taxation, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Apply 5S, QC tools, and process control charts to enhance procurement operations.
- Support corporate SCM initiatives across logistics, planning, strategic sourcing, and supplier development.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Exposure to vendor negotiations, import/export regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- SAP End user skill level important
- Must have experience in Automobile or Consumer durable industry ,handled Metals/Plastics/Packaging/Fabrication item.
