This person will have the opportunity to increase their analytical skills and knowledge by interacting with industry experts within the organization, helping to form a consistent and comprehensive view of the Commodities and sectors like Gas, Power, Renewables, Fuel, Oil, Chemicals, Agriculture commodities and fertilizers, and the Maritime & Trade industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with complex research assignments across the industry by utilizing different sources and advanced secondary research techniques and data analytics.
  • Conduct in-depth research on geographic segment trends, competitors, industry market trends and issues, and relevant technology topics.
  • Help maintain, and enhance proprietary analytical models and databases currently marketed to clients such as supply/demand, inventory models, etc.
  • Possess and demonstrate clear communications skills and analytical creativity to determine and develop deliverables that best serves client needs and budget.
  • Interpret modeling results for understanding and reasonableness.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to research and deliberate on the latest market trends.
  • Support thought leadership and writing insight papers based on research highlighting recent market developments and government policies.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and regional management.
  • Perform data structuring and analysis using technology tools such as Python, and data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Spotfire and Tableau.

What We’re Looking For:

  • High degree of data management
  • Project experience in oil / refining / petrochemical /upstream / downstream / agrochemical / Power / Renewable Energy / seed companies is desired.
  • A conceptual understanding of the upstream business.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI
  • Modeling and data science experience is a plus.
  • Curiosity of global markets, inclination on understanding geopolitics and overall interconnected energy business ecosystem.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with ability to work on large datasets; research complex issues & write coherent analysis.
  • Personable interface at multiple levels within a client’s organization.
  • Cooperatively work across S&P at multi levels to efficiently and effectively utilize the resources and knowledge base available in a team approach.
  • Communicating internationally with consultants in other world regions in multiple time zones effectively.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
