Role Description The Owner at UNHCR SO.Aden will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that activities align with humanitarian objectives, organizational policies, and local needs. This full-time, on-site role based in Aden City includes leading planning and implementation of projects, supervising teams, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The role involves managing budgets and resources, monitoring program performance, and addressing operational challenges to maintain efficiency and quality of services. The Owner will represent the office in key meetings, support decision-making, and ensure compliance with UNHCR standards and reporting requirements. Regular tasks include reviewing project progress, supporting staff development, and maintaining clear documentation and communication across units.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and management capabilities, including team supervision, strategic planning, and decision-making.
- Experience in humanitarian, development, or nonprofit settings, ideally with exposure to refugee or displacement contexts.
- Solid skills in budgeting, resource management, and project coordination, with attention to detail and accountability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse teams and external partners.
- Ability to operate effectively in an on-site environment in Aden City, including adaptability to changing operational conditions.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region is an asset.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as international relations, management, social sciences, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles, diversity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices.
