Position: Parks Development Planner – Hybrid Role

As a Planner in Parks Development, you will work under the Senior Project Manager within the Parks & Recreation Division. This full-time, temporary position emphasizes substantial experience in park and open space planning, policy analysis, and community engagement. You will play a critical role in reviewing and implementing strategic plans, ensuring that they align with the City’s goals for sustainable and accessible parkland.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and develop strategies for parkland and recreation projects
• Analyze and document demographic and social data for planning
• Conduct detailed site analysis and field visits for park developments
• Prepare evidence-based reports using statistical and geospatial tools
• Support public consultation and engage various stakeholders
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in planning or related fields
• Significant experience in park and recreation planning
• Proficient in GIS and data analysis software
• Strong communication and report writing skills
