The Senior Accountant (Payroll Accountant) handles advanced accounting, reconciliations, and compliance work, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records. This role supports the Finance Lead in managing both FinOps and FinMan functions. The Senior Accountant may be assigned to a specific entity and will focus on one company, while maintaining readiness to assist across group-level accounting needs.
A key priority of this role is end-to-end payroll processing. This includes accurate and timely computation of incentives, commissions, adjustments, and payroll-related reconciliations, ensuring that employee compensation is correct, well-documented, and compliant with internal policies and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Operations (FinOps)
- Handle payroll processing and related statutory and BIR requirements.
- Supervise daily accounting transactions and review entries for accuracy.
- Conduct operations audits focusing on sales, cash handling, and inventory.
- Ensure tax and business compliance, including timely BIR filings and permit renewals.
- Review inventory reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Support improvement and documentation of operational SOPs.
- Financial Management (FinMan)
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Perform tax accounting and reporting, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare entity-level budgets and management reports for review by the Finance Lead.
- Conduct cost tracking and variance analysis versus budget.
- Prepare audit schedules and assist in internal and external audit reviews.
- Supervise work of Accounting Associates for quality and compliance.
- General
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with utmost integrity and professionalism.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (CPA preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, reporting, or compliance.
- Strong understanding of Philippine taxation and accounting standards.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
