Position: District of North Saanich Planning Manager
Location: North Saanich
Become the Planning Manager for the District of North Saanich.
This role offers the opportunity to influence community development and shape planning policies.
In this full-time exempt position, you will guide the Planning division’s operational functions while reporting to the Director of Planning and Community Services. You are tasked with providing essential advice on development issues, coordinating the planning team, and representing planning interests across various boards and committees vital to community development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer strategic planning advice to Council and various stakeholders
• Develop and manage key policy documents including zoning bylaws
• Liaise at Advisory Planning and Design Review Committee meetings
• Coordinate development applications and processes efficiently
• Communicate planning issues with multiple departments
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field
• Seven years of progressive planning experience required
• Supervisory experience, preferably in local government
• Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners
• Class 5 B.C. driver’s license necessary
