Position: Plans Examiner Role

This position requires you to conduct thorough assessments of building plans and applications while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws. You’ll be responsible for issuing building permits and guiding applicants through the process, leveraging your knowledge to facilitate successful project execution. In addition, your leadership will help strengthen staff development and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review building permit applications for compliance
• Issue permits and communicate decisions to applicants
• Assist in directing Plans Examination staff responsibilities
• Conduct analyses related to fire, health, and safety regulations
• Keep accurate applications and permit records
Requirements:
• Five years’ experience with the Ontario Building Code
• Degree or diploma related to building construction
• Completion of required Ministry examinations
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of Ontario legislative frameworks
