Job Duties and Responsibilities: Take police reports and conduct other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required

    Education:

    Associate’s degree (any field).

  • Required Experience: No previous work experience required.
  • Equivalency: 2 years’ experience as a certified PO; or 2 years’ experience allowing for a combination of education (15 related credits equivalent to 6 months experience), and/or military service (honorably discharged), and/or certified PO experience.
  • Required Certification/License: (None specified)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Lateral Commissioned Officer with a minimum of two years of commissioned experience in law enforcement. Applicant must be in good standing or have recently left in good standing with their department.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Physical Effort: Considerable physical activity. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.

Lifting Requirements: Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.

Risk: Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
