Role Overview
The job holder will undertake the full range of work with people on probation before and after sentence, including assessment, sentence implementation, offender management and producing reports. The role provides case management support to a wide range of people on probation and requires the use of professional judgement and established service procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assess and manage risks for a caseload of medium and lower risk offenders before and after sentencing
- Develop and maintain accurate and timely reports for courts and relevant agencies
- Work closely with Courts, agencies and other parts of the justice system to support offenders and achieve rehabilitation goals
- Provide practical advice on housing, employment, health and wellbeing to help offenders reintegrate into the community
Qualifications
- Right to work in the UK (including a valid Skilled Worker visa if required)
- No formal degree necessary – competence is judged by relevant experience and personal qualities
- Experience working with people who have social or personal difficulties
- Empathetic, patient, resilient and organised with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines for report production
- Strong verbal communication and the ability to convey information clearly to a variety of audiences
