About the Role
We are hiring a Procurement Officer with proven FMCG experience to manage sourcing, vendor relationships, and purchasing for our operations in Abuja. The ideal candidate understands fast-moving consumer goods supply chains, cost control, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Purchasing
– Identify and source FMCG products, packaging, and materials at the best cost and quality
– Raise purchase orders, track deliveries, and follow up with suppliers to meet deadlines
– Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts with vendors
2. Vendor Management
– Build and maintain strong relationships with FMCG suppliers and distributors
– Evaluate vendor performance on price, quality, and delivery
– Onboard new vendors and ensure compliance with company standards
3. Inventory & Compliance
– Work with warehouse/stores to forecast demand and avoid stockouts or overstock
– Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies and procurement procedures
– Maintain accurate records of purchases, quotations, and vendor documents
4. Cost Control
– Monitor market trends and price movements for FMCG items
– Suggest cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality
– Prepare regular procurement reports for management
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
– Minimum 2-3 years procurement experience in an FMCG company. Must have vendor network in Abuja
– Strong negotiation skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail
– Proficient in MS Excel. Experience with procurement software/ERP is an advantage
– Proactive, organized, and able to work under tight timelines
