Role Description The Procurement Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in juja. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, preparing and issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The Procurement Officer will evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts and pricing, and maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities. Daily tasks include monitoring inventory levels, coordinating with clinical and administrative departments to understand procurement needs, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The role also involves analyzing spending patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting overall efficiency and reliability in the hospital’s supply chain.
Qualifications
- Strong procurement and purchasing skills, with experience managing end-to-end procurement processes.
- Proficiency in handling purchase orders and related documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation, including vendor selection, pricing, and terms.
- Well-developed analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance, costs, and inventory data.
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
