Position: PROGRAM ANALYST with Security Clearance
Duties The primary purpose of this position is:
To serve as senior Air Force analyst and to provide Air Force military rated aviator expertise in planning, developing, and evaluating certain major complex plans such as war, mobilization, and similar operations or contingency plans to project air power world wide. Duties
* Applying Air Force military rated mobility aviator expertise, performs a broad range of often classified, highly complex and controversial qualitative and quantitative analyses of programs, policies, and issues which have major impact on national deterrence policy in the development of long-range plans such as war, mobilization, and similar operations or contingency plans.
* Using AF military rated aviator experience, develops new methods for testing and evaluating the effectiveness of assigned war, mobilization, and similar operations or contingency plans.
* Using AF military rated aviator experience, prepares position papers and presents high level briefings of conclusions; many being highly subjective and not readily susceptible to verification until actual operational situations are encountered.
* Maintains a continuous liaison with other Air Staff, other service headquarters counterparts, and DOD offices to ensure that planning is consistent and integrated throughout the defense community Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* May travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, and other functions away from the duty site.
* AF military rated aviator experience (e.g. pilot, navigator) is critical to the successful performance of the work; is highly desired
* Must have a top secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access
* The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* This position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206).
* This position is designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. The employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. (cont’d)

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes mastery of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of Air Force level plans and procedures such as war, mobilization, deployment, and similar operations; and to evaluate MAJCOM and Air Staff responses to plans and studies;
