As a Programs Officer at Emerald Foundation Uganda, I coordinate and support the implementation of programs aimed at improving the wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life of older persons aged 65 years and above.
Emerald Foundation Uganda is committed to promoting ageing with dignity by combating isolation, neglect, abuse, and poverty among older persons. My work focuses on ensuring that elderly individuals and communities in Amuria District receive meaningful support, inclusion, and opportunities to live dignified lives.
Key Responsibilities:
– Coordinate and implement community-based programs supporting older persons in Amuria District.
– Conduct community engagement, beneficiary identification, and follow-up visits.
– Advocate for the rights, protection, and social inclusion of older persons.
– Support initiatives addressing loneliness, neglect, abuse, and economic vulnerability among the elderly.
– Mobilize and work with community leaders, caregivers, volunteers, and stakeholders.
– Document program activities, success stories, and lessons learned.
– Support monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and accountability of programs.
– Contribute to partnerships and resource mobilization efforts to expand impact.
