About Smarter Uniforms
Smarter Uniforms is a Brighton and Hove based Community Interest Company that started
in 2017.
Our mission is to keep more school uniforms in circulation, out of landfill and to save
families money. We help families to access second-hand school uniform through the
provision of an online marketplace where uniforms can be bought and sold.
Alongside our online marketplace, we manage a growing network of community uniform
rails located within trusted local services such as foodbanks, libraries and family hubs.
Families can access these uniforms free of charge, helping to reduce financial pressure
while keeping good-quality clothing out of landfill.
We also champion and advocate for the full implementation of government guidance
relating to school uniform by liaising with schools, council officials and via our
communication with the public.
