Our client, a world-leading company in the renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure sector, is looking for a Project Development Director to join their team in Hanoi.
The position is ideally suited for candidates seeking long-term exposure to utility-scale Wind (Onshore/Offshore) and BESS development in Vietnam, which is considered one of the company’s strategic growth markets in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead renewable energy project development and pipeline expansion across Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
- Coordinate land acquisition, permitting, licensing, and government approval processes.
- Conduct project feasibility studies and manage early-stage project development activities.
- Collaborate with EPC contractors, business partners, and local stakeholders to drive project execution.
- Support the development and commercialization of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Onshore Wind; Solar PV; Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS); Integrated Energy Solutions
- Liaise with power authorities, national grid operators, energy ministries, and other relevant government agencies.
- Facilitate grid connection approvals and support PPA/DPPA negotiations and communications.
- Manage government relations and external stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor renewable energy policies, regulations, and market developments.
Requirements
- Around 10 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a strong focus on wind power projects, strong preference for candidates with a stable employment history.
- Proven track record in developing utility-scale wind projects in Vietnam/Thailand, or Indonesia.
- Strong understanding of local renewable energy markets, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working with government authorities, utilities, grid operators, and key industry stakeholders.
- Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and business development skills.
- Fluent English communication skills.
