Overview
Project Management, Assistant Manager (Employability) Jobs in Greater Kuala Lumpur at Mereka
Title: Project Management, Assistant Manager (Employability)
Company: Mereka
Location: Greater Kuala Lumpur
If you've ever watched a well-intentioned program lose its way between the strategy deck and the community it was meant to serve, you know how much the operator in the middle matters. We need someone who can hold both the plan and the people — and make sure the ringgit, the timeline, and the outcome all land where they should.
What you'd be doing
- Run multiple social impact programs end-to-end — plans, timelines, budgets, risks, delivery
- Work directly with community members, partners, and stakeholders so every activity reflects what the community actually needs
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and officials at local, regional, and national levels
- Own project budgets — track spend, report transparently, and optimise allocation so more of each ringgit reaches the ground
- Set up evaluation processes that measure real outcomes (not just outputs), and fold stakeholder feedback into the next cycle
- Write progress reports, final reports, and marketing collateral that make the impact legible to funders and partners
- Coordinate across Mereka teams to unblock delivery and amplify reach
What you'll need
- 3+ years managing multi-stakeholder projects — ideally in social impact, development, or community programs
- Comfortable working directly with communities and navigating government or institutional stakeholders
- Solid budget management — you can build, track, and report on a project budget without hand-holding
Bonus points for…
- Experience with Malaysian government agencies at local, state, or federal level
- Background in social innovation, entrepreneurship, or the creative economy
- Monitoring & evaluation experience (theory of change, SROI, outcome frameworks)
- Bahasa Malaysia fluency for community-facing work in Johor
- Willingness to travel between KL and Johor for program delivery
What you get
- Flexible hybrid setup — work from home when you're not in community, with required presence across KL and Johor for program delivery
- Generous annual leave, study leave, paternal leave, and sick leave
- Holistic wellness allowance — medical, mental health, fitness (we treat these as the same thing)
