The Role
The Public Policy Project Manager leads the development and delivery of public policy initiatives by coordinating stakeholders, managing projects end‑to‑end, and ensuring policy goals are translated into effective, on‑time outcomes aligned with organisational and regulatory priorities.
Duties
- Project Management of government schemes and projects (currently including Deposit Return Schemes in Wales and the rest of the UK (DRS) to ensure commercial and operational optimisation).
- Ensure business readiness for implementation of all Government policies, including those of the devolved nations.
- Work with the External and Government Affairs Lead to ensure that BBG’s key political messages are clear and concise with strong data analysis.
- Where appropriate, represent BBG at external meetings with Government and stakeholders relevant to policy implementation.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure prompt payment and accurate budgeting of government‑mandated payments such as that for EPR and DRS.
- Where useful, support the External and Government Affairs Lead on Government Consultations.
- Support the LCA team on presentations/briefing preparation on policy implementation matters.
- Responsible for maintaining MP constituency platform.
- Provide support for External and Government Affairs Lead including ensuring that political monitoring is managed.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree standard is desirable.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- At least 3 years’ experience in project management.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis.
- Finance experience.
- Interest in politics.
