Our Communications Dispatch Center is the primary public safety answer point for all 911 emergency calls to the Napa Police Department, Napa County Sheriff’s Department, American Canyon Police Department, Napa Fire Department, American Canyon Fire Department and AMR Ambulance Services. We also transfer calls to Cal Fire, St. Helena Police Department and Calistoga Police Department.

We are currently seeking applicants for vacancies under the Public Safety Dispatch Call Taker classification. In this role, you are a critical link between citizens and the emergency response personnel. Although many people are passionate about this exciting and fast-paced career, few have had the opportunity to observe the operations of a busy Communications Center. This recruitment and examination is being conducted to fill two (2) vacancies and may be used to fill future similar vacancies as they occur during the active status of the employment list. The active status of this employment list will be for six (6) months unless abolished sooner or extended beyond that date in accordance with the Civil Service Rules.
