About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Specialist to join our team at ATU Duty Free. This role is central to ensuring smooth supply chain operations, reliable vendor partnerships, and consistent product availability. You will play a key part in analyzing category performance, managing supplier relationships, and coordinating logistics to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our international customers.
Key Responsibilities
Category Analysis: Lead performance reviews using data and consumer insights to identify trends, opportunities, and guide strategic decisions.
Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate favorable commercial terms (pricing, payment, promotions), and secure reliable services.
Purchasing & Product Introduction: Work closely with suppliers to purchase, introduce new products, expand categories, and refresh offerings in line with customer demand and seasonal trends.
Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, track movement, identify overstocks, shortages, and near-expiry products, and initiate corrective actions to maintain optimal availability.
Order Management: Plan and supervise ordering cycles, place timely and accurate orders, and ensure consistent product availability while avoiding overstock or stock-outs.
Category Strategy Support: Assist in defining product positioning strategies, enhancing visibility, brand presence, and sales conversion.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with operations, finance, and warehouse teams to support smooth supply chain processes, accurate stock planning, and replenishment.
Reporting & Insights: Prepare weekly and monthly reports on stock, sales performance, customs requirements, and category profitability for management review.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2–3 years’ experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics (retail or duty-free preferred).
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and consumer insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Willingness to relocate to Salalah, Oman if not already based locally.
