We're now seeking a Regulatory and Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance team in Uzbekistan. This role combines regulatory compliance, legal support, AML/CFT oversight, and corporate governance responsibilities for our NAPP-licensed crypto business. You will act as a key point of contact for regulators and law enforcement authorities while supporting the company’s legal, contractual, and compliance framework.

Responsibilities

  • Review and make decisions on escalated suspicious activity cases, including SAR/STR assessments and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate SAR/STR submissions and maintain reporting quality standards.
  • Manage regulatory and law enforcement requests, coordinating with internal stakeholders and ensuring complete, accurate, and timely responses.
  • Maintain records and audit trails for regulatory and law enforcement interactions.
  • Act as the primary legal point of contact for day-to-day business operations.
  • Liaise with NAPP and other government authorities, supporting regulatory inquiries, inspections, and reporting obligations.
  • Draft legal opinions, regulatory responses, and official correspondence.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and maintain commercial contracts, partnership agreements, NDAs, service agreements, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and other legal documentation.
  • Support corporate governance matters, including corporate records, shareholder resolutions, powers of attorney, company registrations, and corporate structure changes.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, including review, negotiation, execution, storage, renewal, and termination.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual risks, legal obligations, and dispute resolution matters.
  • Support AML/CFT-related legal interpretation, internal policies, and compliance processes.
  • Provide legal guidance for new products, features, and business initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in Uzbek legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose practical, business-oriented solutions.

Requirements

  • Law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized university.
  • 3+ years of legal experience, preferably within fintech, crypto, financial services, technology, or other regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Uzbek corporate law, including company registration procedures and corporate governance requirements.
  • Proven experience independently drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial agreements.
  • Solid understanding of Uzbekistan's regulatory environment, including AML/CFT and compliance requirements.
  • Experience interacting with regulators, government authorities, or external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Uzbek civil, tax, labor, and administrative law relevant to commercial operations.
  • Strong legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of digital products, fintech, or crypto services.
  • Based in Uzbekistan or willing to relocate to Tashkent.
  • Professional proficiency in Uzbek and Russian, with working proficiency in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience within cryptocurrency, fintech, payments, banking, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience working with NAPP or other Uzbekistan regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of digital asset regulation and crypto compliance requirements.
  • Experience with cross-border contracts, intercompany structures, and international legal frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data protection, advertising, and consumer protection regulations.
  • Experience with contract management systems or legal technology tools.

Why It Is a Fantastic Opportunity

  • 21 calendar days of paid vacation annually.
  • 11 days off per year.
