Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position independently performs reviews and evaluates applications for varying professions, based on the current needs of the office. This position performs varied and complex regulatory work which requires independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments to completion. The work is performed under the supervision of a Regulatory Supervisor/Consultant and is reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
Independently conducts in-depth reviews and evaluation of the more complex applications for licensure in accordance 55% with the laws and rules. This review consists of detailed evaluations of educational coursework, varied work experience, and reviews examination scores. Independently evaluates credentials of foreign educated applicants, transcripts, degrees, employment verifications and other educational documentation for licensure. Enters profiling information for various licensure applications, reviews confidential information and criminal history background reports to determine eligibility for licensure and prepare documents to enter into the database.
Utilizes LEIDS to continuously update applicant/licensure information, and the issuance of licenses to all eligible applicants.
Responsible for communicating verbally and in writing to applicants, licensees, etc., answering questions concerning 20% the licensure and examination process. Responsible for sending deficiency letters to applicants stating all possible deficiencies. Responsible for obtaining background information by accessing the live scan database information in LEIDS. Assists with implementation of new legislation, rules and processes.
At the direction of the Regulatory Supervisor, the Regulatory Specialist II
-Team Lead will conduct error reporting and 10% execute quality control activities for the Unit, including developing and updating training materials as needed. Assists with varying tasks including processing of continuing education courses and preparing files for committee review.
Provides complete copies of applications, agenda items, etc., to the appropriate staff for the preparation of the agenda.
Performs other duties as assigned.

* Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and consumer protection.

* Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

This is a fully on-site position based in Tallahassee. Employees are required to work from our Tallahassee office five days per week with no regular telework or remote option.
